Tell your members of Congress story about the decrease in value and how that has impacted you. Contact information for companies that either operate in Oak Ridge as major DOE operating contractors or have subsidiaries (LLCs) that do.
If you see executives of these companies in the community, tell them that you expect the companies to recommend adjustments for inflations and the extension of such benefits as the reduction in spousal penalty to all retirees and to all employees of contractors in Oak Ridge. |

Be vocal and let your voice be heard. |
Help bring this issue to the top of issues that must be solved locally in the Greater Knoxville- Oak Ridge region. Every school board member, city council member, county commissioner, county mayor, city mayor should have a great interest in seeing that the adjustments get done if for no other reason than about an additional $70 million economic impact annually on the local economy. Speak to these local office holders as well as State Legislative senators and representatives and ask them to demand action from Congress, the DOE, and the local contractors.
