An estimated 900 people were in attendance at the meeting.  Copies of the final agenda, along with biosketches of all nominees, were handed to attendees at the door.

Sandy Dean welcomed attendees and asked them how many saw the ads that appeared in area newspapers last weekend.  She asked for a show of hands by those who had written or called their legislators after reading the ads.  She displayed new CORRE membership cards, which could be picked up in the lobby after the meeting.

Joe Setaro, first vice president, presided at the meeting in the absence of Dave Reichle.  He introduced Bob Worrell, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, who presented the slate of officers/board members.  Motion was made, seconded, and passed to elect the slate by acclamation.  Elected for two-year terms (2006-2007) were:

CORRE’s Past President Charlie Kuykendall was the rally speaker, and gave a very spirited talk, emphasizing that we are asking for fairness.

Reporters present were:  Bob Fowler, Knoxville News Sentinel, John Houtaro, The Oak Ridger; and Stan Mitchell, Oak Ridge Observer.  All subsequently had good writeups in their newspapers.
