Retirees- Let’s remind the community that DOE and the DOE contractors need to treat retirees fairly.

Display a CORRE bumper sticker on your car or truck-

Stickers are available at the Senior Center in Oak Ridge and from CORRE officers. We are also trying to place them in other senior centers and libraries throughout the area. The sticker looks like this------

Why the reminder to DOE and DOE contractors with bumper stickers?

• DOE has taken a position in their policy against adjustments for retirees.
  
• DOE contractor management have not advocated on behalf of retirees- if fact, some Oak Ridge contractor management have actively worked against making adjustments for retirees.
  
• The community needs to remind local DOE officials and the Contractor Management that they are hurting not only retirees, but the community, as the Oak Ridge region would receive a financial benefit of about $55 Million additional dollars in its economy if adjustments recommended by CORRE were made.
  
• Contractor and DOE management should continue the practice of past companies to make adjustments in pensions when there are funds and a great need.
  
• The need has never been greater, there is a large fund surplus, and DOE has, despite those facts, has not made a contribution to the retirement fund for 22 years.
  
• And, by all means, if you see a member of contractor management or local DOE manager, tell them to do the right thing for retirees and the community.
