DOE Contractor Employee Equitable Treatment Act of 2006

Legislation Introduced in Congress

On May 11, 2006, a Bill (H.R. 5362) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives "To ensure the equitable provision of pension and medical benefits to Department of Energy contractor employees."  This
Bill is also known as the "Department of Energy Contractor Employee Equitable Treatment Act of 2006."  As of September 30, 2006, the Bill
is being co-sponsored by two of Tennessee's nine Congressmen.  Only Lincoln Davis of the 4th District and Harold Ford of the 9th District have signed on.

A similar Bill (S-2794) was introduced in the Senate.  As of September 30, 2006, neither of Tennessee's Senators has signed on as a co-sponsor.
